Building Knowledge Nexus

BUILDING KNOWLEDGE projects

Here is a sample of the range of projects undertaken by BUILDING KNOWLEDGETM.

BUILDING KNOWLEDGETM works internationally, bringing best practices from across industry, sector and national boundaries to our clients' businesses and helping them to adapt these practices to their own circumstances and organizatinal cultures.

As we maintain a policy of strict client confidentiality, we never reveal the names of our clients or any proprietorial information.

International Benchmarking Study

In an ever more competitive industry, knowing how your customers value your products and services against those of your competitors is essential if you are going to retain their business. Benchmarking is one of the best ways of telling you how you stand.

BUILDING KNOWLEDGETM benchmarked the operation of a major construction industry certifier against international best-practice, visiting Europe and Asia to examine and document relevant best practices against the strategic needs of the client. Ten key-recommendations were enacted, better positioning the client to provide a superior service and take advantage of domestic market opportunities.

Quality Documentation

Our client required a set of documents setting out their processes and rules of operation to assist staff and customers better understand the operation and terms and conditions of the business. BUILDING KNOWLEDGETM assessed existing procedure documentation, discussed existing and desired operations with staff and selected customers, reviewed compatible documents obtained from other industries and oversaw legal review to draft appropriate documentation that met both statutory and business requirements.

Market Research

BUILDING KNOWLEDGETM was commissioned by a new and quickly expanding company to conduct market research to inform client management of the desirability of expanding their product range and investing $5,000,000 on additional manufacturing capacity to service new markets. We conducted industry analysis of local and national markets and competing products and firms. We developed proposals for approaches to existing markets, and then assisted with the changes necessary for the client to organise for success.

Contract Analysis and Development

Our client wanted to break the cycle of contractual conflict and value leakage from their standard form of contract. BUILDING KNOWLEDGETM analysed the contract and, after meetings with both parties and communication with their legal representatives, redrew specific clauses to mitigate the causes of past conflict, whilst maintaining the original intent and promoting smooth operation of the contract. Reduced claims and the maintenance of realistic expectations by the parties during the contract realised savings for the client over previous similar contracts of more than $185,000.

Project Post-Completion Analysis

BUILDING KNOWLEDGETM researched and documented the outcomes of the client's project, measuring them against the initial targets. Using methods including user surveys and interviews, in-house staff questionnaires and team interviews combined with targetted market research, the appropriate lessons from both previous and current projects were reported to assist client management to embed structured operational change within the firm and improve long-term organisational performance.

In-house Edcucation

BUILDING KNOWLEDGETM presented a customised eduaction program for industry professionals designed to improve understanding and capability of selected staff and to assist the client meet it commitments to the continuing professional development of its staff as part of its staff training and retention program. A notable benefit of the in-house program was the minimised disruption to the client's business of having the modules presented at the workplace at times best suited to the company.
